Read and Response. Students will have an extended writing response question over the NewsELA article from yesterday. We will continue to follow the "Yes, MAAM" approach when constructing our extended responses.
Periods 1&3: Pretend you are a new up and coming musician who wants to get your music heard by the public, based on what you read in the article, would you allow your music to be streamed on Spotify? Why or why not. Be sure to support your answer using details from the text. Periods 2,7 &9: According to the article, if streaming companies want highly known artist to supply their music, what are some changes that the companies would have to make to keep the star's music on their sites?

I-STEP PREP: Achieve the Core. Students will reading and answering I-step based questions from a practice assessment created by achievethecore, As this is the first time the students will see an assessment in this format, we will be walking through it together as a class. Students are required to read the article provided, answer 6-8 multiple choice questions and respond to an essay prompt that reveals an argument discussed in the reading. This assessment models, what we believe, the applied skills portion on the I-step beginning March 2.
