Objectives: Students will focus on their independent reading levels by reading a book specific for their level to read silently.
Agenda: Students are to complete the bell work on the board by defining common noun, proper noun, concrete noun, and abstract noun. This will act as the introduction for kinds of nouns. Students will be given new seats where they will sit for the next several weeks. Once students have completed the bell work, the rest of the class period will be spent silently reading in their appropriate reading level. This is to enhance independent reading.
Tuesday Sept. 30
Objectives: Students will identify all nouns in several sentences. Students will also understand their correct and incorrect answers on their Etymology Quiz from last week. Lastly students will begin working on their Weekly Write which is due Thursday.
Agenda:Today students are using their definitions from yesterday's bell work to identify nouns in different sentences. Students will be identify ANY and ALL person place or thing in each sentence. (bell work). Students will be given back their Etymology quiz from last week. As a class we will review over the quiz understanding what correct answer are. Students will not be allowed a retake or corrections due to the amount of extra credit added to the quiz as well as the review over the quiz together. Lastly we will be discussing this week's Weekly Write and what students are required to include. This will be the final Weekly Write for this quarter!
Wednesday Oct. 1
Objectives: Agenda: Review essay pre-assessment from the first week of school. Students will see how well they did on the pre-assessment and know what to improve on for their post assessment in a few weeks. This will also set up for their extended writing assignment. Introduce extended writing assignment. Students will be writing personal narratives. Students are required to choose from three different prompts to write their narrative. Students are also required to review over their rubric as they are planning, writing and reviewing their narratives to ensure they meet and exceed expectations for the assignment. NARRATIVES ARE DUE OCTOBER 10!
